Celebrating Mother's Day in Peru: A Heartfelt Tribute to My Mom

I wish I could show anyone reading this a video from Mother’s Day 2022. We were celebrating my wonderful mom in Peru. From the moment she walked outside that morning, she was handed flowers and sang to—not from my sister and me but from anyone she interacted with. Stores were closed, and there was a parade that evening celebrating mothers. It felt like Thanksgiving or Christmas in that everyone stopped to truly celebrate.
