What are you thankful for?

Chris Kittrell

I’m thinking a lot about gratitude this week.

‘Tis the season. Even though this Thanksgiving will be modified slightly.

Will yours?

I will still go to my parents house for Thanksgiving, but there will be a few less chairs at the table as my brother and his family quarantine at their home.

It’s hard not to be with our loved ones, but it was the right decision for them.

It’s hard not to have our usual Thanksgiving, but we’re adapting.

In these challenging times, it’s easy to feel like we’re alone. Especially if we can’t gather with our loved ones or follow our usual traditions.

But as this bizarre year comes to a close, I’m also working on being more thankful for my blessings.

I’m thankful for my family. We have gotten through some very tough times together.

I’m thankful for my wife, Tami, who has been my constant companion for 26 years.

I’m thankful for our wonderful daughters, Hannah, Sydney, and my son-in-law Joe who fill me with awe at their resiliency and joy.

I’m thankful for the amazing people of East Tennessee, who have come together and supported each other in incredible ways this year.

I’m thankful for work that allows me to help wonderful people fulfill their dreams (even when some of those dreams get deferred).

What are you thankful for? Will you hit “reply” and let me know?

May you and your loved ones enjoy a warm, safe, happy, blessed Thanksgiving this year.
Yours in heartfelt gratitude,
