I heard someone say years ago that when it comes to financial planning, the investments are like the engine. It’s gonna get you to where you need to go. Advanced planning really involves all the things that are non-investment related, the ancillary things, the sometimes super technical things that maybe folks don’t think about when it comes to their planning. But if you think about a car, the engine is going to get you to where you want to go.
But there’s a lot of things about the car that are gonna make it a more peaceful journey – a more successful journey, a safer journey. And that’s what advanced planning really is.
Not necessarily the bells and the whistles, but the necessary infrastructure around someone’s overall family financial plan that’s going to help them get to where they want to go and have peace of mind in the process.
