What Types of Insurance Do I Really Need?
Hi, I’m Jeff Hall, a Partner and Senior Advisor at Rather and Kittrell.
Insurance is a normal and necessary part of a strong financial plan. The question that we hear a lot is “Do I have the right kind of insurance?” “Do I need more insurance?” “Are there gaps in the insurance that I have, or maybe some areas that I haven’t thought about?”
It really can be an overwhelming discussion to think about all of those different risks and different policies that insurance companies provide. It really comes down to what it is you want to accomplish, and what those risks are that are really going to vary from family to family, with lots of different variables that are going to impact that need.
Life insurance, how much do I need? Do I need to have some down the road? Do I need to have some now?
Disability insurance, when can I stop paying those premiums and know that im self insured?
Long-term care insurance is a really important topic these days.
Maybe for someone’s family, their parents, they’re looking at how to take care of them as they transition into older age.
These are all really, really important questions, and ultimately, insurance provides a way to protect from loss and also against loss. And those are really important topics when it comes to preserving and protecting the things that you have worked so hard for.
