How do I compare to others my age?

I’m Jay Slagle, and I’m a senior advisor at Rather and Kittrell.

We’re often asked, “How do I compare to others my age?” And that’s a very understandable question because none of us wants to feel like we’re behind. However, we often find that a better, more important question to ask is, “What’s most important to me?”

We work with clients in a variety of age groups, and what’s most important to them is what the plan has to be going on. We may have two 60-year old clients that are the same age, have a comparable amount of resources; however, their plan is different because what they want in retirement is different.

So until we ask really good questions and find out what they want to accomplish, it’s very difficult to build a meaningful plan. But when we identify those things and clarify those goals, we’re able to build a unique plan that is custom to their familiy and we’ve found that no two plans are the same.

If you’d like to learn more about how we build custom plans for each of our clients, visit us at rkcapital.com.
