As we discussed earlier, the priority of wealth transfer over estate planning is always about the impact on the heirs and the beneficiaries of our wealth, so when we think about the impact that could have on our kids, there are some questions that we ask ourselves.
- How do my kids handle money?
- What is the worst thing that would happen to each of my children if we left them this wealth?
- How serious is that?
- How likely is that to happen?
- Alternatively, what’s the best thing that could happen if we left this wealth to our children?
